What causes panic attacks?
Although there can be hereditary factors and food allergies that contribute to the problem, at their root panic attacks are the result of a build up of a number of stressful events. Some people only feel a sense of panic in certain situations, for example, flying, enclosed spaces or public speaking. These are more commonly known as phobias (an intense, irrational fear or dislike of something). Other people can experience panic attacks anywhere and at anytime. Certain lifestyle choices can contribute as well, like a high caffeine intake, smoking, drug use or the use of prescription medication. Personality traits can also have a bearing. For example, someone who is very critical, disapproving or who has a high, uncompromising expectation of themselves is likely to be more susceptible to panic attacks.
How hypnotherapy treats panic attacks
The experience of hypnosis, and the practice of self-hypnosis, can be very deeply calming and relaxing. That alone is of tremendous benefit to a stressed body and mind. However, during a hypnotherapy treatment you will also be able to identify and release the emotional energy of any earlier life incidents or negative beliefs that are contributing to the problem. This in turn helps you to feel more confident about yourself in the present moment. By using powerful visual imagery and helpful language patterns you can get your unconscious mind working positively for you, helping you feel more calm and relaxed whenever there is a need. Allied with lifestyle and dietary changes, you will be able to feel a much greater sense of ease and confidence within just a few sessions. |
